Two football players, two brain tumors, two unbelievable stories.
Detroit Lions running back Jerome Harrison reportedly underwent surgery for a brain tumor on Friday. As amazing as it is that Supra Shoes Harrison could play in the NFL with a brain tumor, it’s even more amazing that he’s not the only one. Robert Quinn, a defensive end drafted No. 14 overall by the Rams this year, has a tumor the size of a dime still inside his skull. While working on a story about Quinn his spring, I called officials at the National Brain Tumor Foundation and the American Brain Tumor Association, a historian at the Pro Football Hall of Fame and a doctor renowned for his knowledge of sports head injuries. None of them had ever heard of a football player—or athlete in any sport, for that matter—coSupra Shoesmpeting with such a condition.

Now there are two.

And it appears that football helped save both of their lives.

There are still many details about Harrison’s case that are unknown, but I have written extensively about Quinn’s, and I see language software     a few key areas where their amazing stories overlap. The first is headaches. Harrison was supposed to be traded to the Eagles this week. According to news reports, he told the Eagles’ doctor during a physical that he had been having headaches. The doctor ordered an MRI, and the tumor was discovered.

Quinn had blinding and persistent headaches, too. Quinn’s headaches were accompanied by blackouts and dizziness. His symptoms started shortly before his senior year of high school. One of the biggest signs that something was wrong was how poorly he played in football. Before the snap, he routinely turned around and asked teamSupra Muskamates questions, as if he didn’t know what the play was.

He was a blue-chip recruit at defensive end, but guys were constantly running right past him. It got so bad that his high school coach met with him privately to ask if there was anything wrong.

His parents rushed him to the hospital Supra Skylow        after he passed out in the bathroom in the middle of the night after a football game, and that’s when doctors discovered the tumor. In emergency surgery, doctors drained a quart of fluid out of his skull, his mom, Maria Quinn, told me last year.
